1. About Saddl

Saddl ([full legal entity name, e.g. Saddl Ltd], registered in England and Wales, company number [company number], registered address [registered address]) operates the website at saddl.co.uk (the "Site").

Saddl is an equestrian venue directory. It provides a searchable index of equestrian venues across the United Kingdom to help riders find facilities near them. Saddl is not a booking platform and does not arrange, facilitate or take payment for bookings between users and venues. Any arrangement made between a user and a venue is made directly between those parties.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you should not use the Site.

These terms apply to all visitors, users and venue owners who access the Site. Venue owners who claim a listing are also subject to the additional terms in section 6.

3. Use of the Site

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Use the Site in any way that breaches any applicable local, national or international law or regulation.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site or its related systems.
  • Transmit unsolicited commercial communications.
  • Systematically extract data from the Site by automated means (scraping) without our prior written consent.
  • Submit false, misleading or fraudulent information through any part of the Site.

4. Venue listings and accuracy

Venue listings on the Site are compiled from publicly available sources and information provided by venue owners. Saddl does not independently verify the accuracy, completeness or currency of listing information.

Saddl makes no warranty that listing information, including contact details, opening hours, facilities, pricing or accreditation status, is accurate or up to date. Users should verify material information directly with the venue before making any arrangements.

[Solicitor to advise on appropriate liability exclusion for inaccurate listing data, particularly re: BHS/ABRS approval status and pricing]

5. Links to third-party websites

The Site contains links to venue websites and other third-party websites. These links are provided for convenience only. Saddl has no control over and accepts no responsibility for the content, privacy practices or availability of any linked site. A link does not constitute an endorsement of the linked site or its operator.

6. Venue owners and claimed listings

Venue owners may claim their listing through the Site's claim flow. By claiming a listing, you confirm that you are authorised to act on behalf of the venue and that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

Venue owners are responsible for keeping their listing information accurate and up to date. Saddl reserves the right to remove or suspend a claimed listing at its discretion, including where information is found to be misleading or where the claim is disputed.

[Solicitor to advise: terms for commercial listings if/when paid tiers are introduced; ownership of uploaded photos; right to remove listings]

7. Intellectual property

The Site and its content (excluding third-party venue information) are owned by or licensed to Saddl. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from any part of the Site without our prior written consent.

By submitting content through the Site (including photos uploaded via a claimed listing), you grant Saddl a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display and reproduce that content in connection with the Site.

[Solicitor to review IP grant scope, particularly for venue-uploaded photography]

8. Limitation of liability

[Solicitor to draft. Key points to address: (1) Saddl is a directory not a booking agent, no liability for venue-user arrangements; (2) Accuracy of listing data, Saddl relies on third-party sources; (3) Consumer rights, statutory rights not affected; (4) Cap on liability to the extent permitted by law]

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other matter for which liability cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

9. Changes to these terms

Saddl may update these terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
