About this yard

Checkendon Equestrian Centre is a BHS Highly Commended approved riding school set on 70 acres of Oxfordshire Chilterns countryside near Reading. Established over 30 years ago, it has two indoor schools, three outdoor schools, a cross-country course, horse walker, and equine masseur. It caters to all levels from first-timers to competition riders, and uniquely offers horseback archery alongside conventional lessons. BHS exam training, livery, and competitions are all available.

Pricing

Tiny Tots Saturday 4pm (ages 3-6, 30 min, parent leads pony). Half-day Pony Day (10am-1pm) and Full-day Pony Day (10am-4pm) school holidays. Horseback Archery: 1hr group £55, 1hr private £75; 1.5hr group £80, 1.5hr private £110. Ground Archery: 1hr group £25, 1hr private £50.

Clothing

Hair & jewellery

Long hair should be tied back in a ponytail before putting on your helmet. All jewellery must be removed before riding.
