Dulwich Riding School
About this yard
Dulwich Riding School has been operating since 1961 and is widely regarded as one of the finest riding schools in the capital, waiting lists of around seven months for new riders reflect its strong reputation. Located on Dulwich Common in SE21, the school holds both ABRS+ and BHS approval, and has received a five-star Health and Safety rating from the local council. Lessons take place in a covered indoor arena or an outdoor manège, ensuring year-round riding in all weathers. The school offers seven progressive standards of instruction from complete beginner to advanced, graded by ability rather than age, allowing riders to work through flatwork, dressage, and show jumping systematically. Hacking into the surrounding Dulwich Woods is also available. The school takes children from six years of age, with junior lessons forming a core part of the programme alongside adult rides, birthday parties, and livery services.
