About this yard
Margaret Haes Riding Centre at Moor Road, Holcombe near Bury, was established to provide riding for disabled and able-bodied riders alongside each other. The centre is BHS approved and welcomes riders from age 4. Group, semi-private and private lessons run in the indoor or outdoor school across all abilities, on the centre's horses or your own. Off-road hacking heads out onto bridleways and quiet lanes towards the moors and Peel Tower. Open six days a week.

BHS Approved, BHS Changing Lives Through Horses programme. Lessons: shared 30min £15, private 30min £20, private 1hr £35. Pony Days £35 per rider (3-4hr sessions, school holidays). Group rides for disabled riders Pay as You Feel. Indoor and outdoor schools, rides to Peel Tower. Volunteer-run.

What to wear

Riding boots or sturdy boots with a small heel.
Close-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Shoulders and legs must be covered, no vest tops or shorts. Jackets and coats should be fastened securely. Waterproofs are recommended for outdoor lessons.
Long hair should be tied back in a ponytail before putting on your helmet. All jewellery must be removed before riding.
Clients arriving in unsuitable clothing or footwear may not be permitted to ride, for their own safety. If in doubt, contact the yard before your visit.
