About this yard

Ravelrig Riding for the Disabled is a Riding for the Disabled Association centre based in Balerno on the edge of Edinburgh. The charity provides therapeutic riding for children and adults with a wide range of disabilities across the Lothians, and in 2024 completed a new indoor arena that extended its year-round operational capacity. Sessions are delivered by qualified RDA instructors with trained volunteer support, and the horses and ponies used are selected for the calm temperament required for therapeutic work. Referrals are accepted from healthcare providers, schools and social care teams across the Edinburgh city region.
