Ruislip Park Stables sits on Fore Street in Pinner, at the entrance to Ruislip Woods, and offers something genuinely different from a standard arena-based riding school. All rides go out into the woods themselves, lead-rein and on bridleways through one of London's finest stretches of ancient forest. There is no outdoor school and no floodlit arena. What you get instead is a proper outdoor riding experience, calm horses, and a small family-run operation that has been doing this well for over 13 years.
Children from age two are welcome on lead-rein woodland rides in 15, 30 and 45-minute sessions, with grooming and feeding add-ons available at every duration. Adults are equally welcome on the same formats. Woodland lessons, where the instructor teaches on foot alongside the bridleway, are available as an alternative to the lead-rein experience. For riders confident in walk, trot and canter, hacked escorted by Natalie on horseback through the Ruislip Woods bridleways, lasting around an hour. Pony birthday parties are available for groups of seven or more children.
All ride leaders are experienced riders. The stables are fully licensed and insured. Helmets are provided. Weight limit 100kg.
