About this yard

White Rose Polo Club is located at Townend Farm, North Cliffe, five minutes from the M62 and 20 minutes from York, and was founded in 2007 with a mission to promote polo across Yorkshire. Lessons are available six days per week from a 60×30m all-weather outdoor arena, ensuring year-round availability. A practice wooden horse supports stick-and-ball instruction for those at the early stages. The club's infrastructure is well-suited to both schooling and competition: 30 stables, full livery for polo ponies, a horse walker, 20 acres of grazing, and an exercise track. Club chukkas run every Wednesday evening and at weekends through the season, and major annual events include the Summit Cup, Castle Howard Cup, and Yorkshire Open Polo Championships. Corporate and team-building days are available, and the club actively promotes polo to schools and universities across the region.
